SHOP RAONE (Pecorino 2023 DOC)

RAONE (Pecorino 2023 DOC)

from £18.00

Country: Italy (Obvs)

Region: Abruzzo

Grape: 100% Pecorino

Alcohol: 13,0%

Viticulture: Biodynamic Farming / Organic

Vineyard: Torre Raone

Jonesy’s review: I have to be honest this is my favourite, I have drank copious amounts of this wine, and this is where my love of this vineyard came from! It’s a fuller bodied white, aromatic, great with food and just amazing on its own! Can you tell I love it? if you don’t like it, send it back and I’ll drink it. x

Wine making: The carefully selected grapes are cooled to 6-8° C and allowed to cryomacerate in press for 6-9 hours and then pressed in a very delicate way. Following this, the static cold settling of the must flower is carried out for 24 hours at 5°C in order to obtain a clarification and a natural clearness of the wine. The alcoholic fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of 13-15° C in steel containers. The wine is then stored at 8-10° C for 2-3 months until bottling.

Tasting notes: Crystal clear, straw yellow to golden intense, shows its character with an intense aroma, persistent and fine, presents the typical hints of exotic fruit, citrus, flowers and aromatic herbs.

The taste is particularly fresh and sapid, very mineral with elegant citrus and dried fruit flavours, dates, apricot jam, with hints of green vegetable essences; it is of considerable persistence and pleasantness, able to evolve positively during time.

With strong, determined and savvy tastes, it enhances the extreme flavours of Abruzzo and other cuisine with its naturalness and authenticity. A real delicacy for the most demanding palates
